James Greathead
James Greathead is a Performance Triathlon Coach with the New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS). James has over 17 years of experience coaching swimming and was the Head Coach of the McKeon’s Swim Centre and Wests Illawarra Aquatic Swim Club between 2014 and 2022. Over this period James guided one of his swimmers to a spot on the 2016 Olympic Team in the 10km Open Water event. In addition, James has also placed swimmers onto the Australian Junior World Championship and Junior Pan Pacific swim teams. As an athlete, James competed in swimming, road cycling, middle distance running and triathlon. This broad experience and interest in elite endurance sport along with his desire to create environments that optimise for the development of individual potential was a key driver in pursuing a coaching career in high performance sport and in particular, a Gen32 scholarship role within Triathlon. |
