Assessment and approvals

All applications will first be assessed against the eligibility criteria and then all eligible applications will be assessed by an internal assessment panel at the Australian Sports Commission.

The internal panel will make their recommendations to the Executive General Manager of Diversity, People and Culture. who will be responsible for the final decision.

The decisions are final and there is no appeal process.

Assessment criteria

  1. Relevance and Motivation
    • Demonstrates current involvement in the sporting sector
    • Clearly articulates the importance of leadership skill development in their role
  2. Application and Knowledge
    • Provides specific and practical examples or scenarios for applying leadership techniques
    • Explains how the program’s insights will positively impact their work within the sporting sector
  3. Leadership Experience
    • Describes a relevant past leadership situation or experience within the sporting sector
    • Identifies challenges faced during that leadership situation and explains how they were handled effectively
    • Relates how participation in the workshops could enhance their leadership skills based on past experience
