Australian Sports Commission is determined to have more Australians participating and excelling in sport, from grass-roots right up to the pinnacle of elite competition.
Australian Sports Commission (ASC) integrity policies and programs.
The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is Australia’s primary national sports administration and advisory agency, and the cornerstone of a wide-ranging sports system. On behalf of the Australian Government, the ASC plays a central leadership role in the development and operation of the Australian sports system, administering and funding innovative sport programs and providing leadership, coordination and support for the sport sector. The ASC promotes the integrity of sport in Australia by supporting measures to deter doping.
This Anti-Doping Policy is updated and implemented by the ASC in accordance with Sport Integrity Australia, opens in a new tab and the ASC’s respective responsibilities under the World Anti-Doping Code and Australian legislation.
The ASC Anti-Doping Policy has been varied, effective 1 January 2021.
The Anti-Doping Search and Discovery Program is one element of the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) strategy to combat doping activities in sport. It involves the conduct of searches of the ASC residential facilities and aims to:
Under the terms and conditions of use agreement for AIS facilities authorised representatives may, at any time and without prior notice, enter the facilities or other premises provided by the AIS (for example, hotel rooms paid for by the AIS), conduct a search and remove any items they believe the possession of which may be in breach of the ASC Anti-Doping Policy, any AIS policy, any applicable anti-doping policy of another organisation, or any applicable law.
Any personal property kept in an athlete's room may be searched and/or removed, whether or not the property is owned by the athlete. Important reminders when staying at the ASC facilities:
Please be aware that if supplements or medications are visible within the facilities, Search and Discovery procedures will be applied and verification of the supplements and medications will be required. Please consider this when using your supplements or medication onsite.
The ASC has a zero-tolerance policy to sexual misconduct that puts the wellbeing of ASC employees or people in the Australian sporting community at risk. The ASC is committed to creating a safe environment and providing support and care for anyone impacted by sexual misconduct while under the ASC’s care and ensuring that that every person involved with the ASC is treated with respect and dignity and protected from discrimination, harassment and abuse.
The ASC has established a dedicated support and response framework to assist anyone impacted by sexual misconduct while under the care of the ASC.
ASC Preventing and Responding to Sexual Misconduct Policy
A confidential helpline is available to assist people in the Australian sports community who have been or are at risk of being impacted by sexual misconduct, while under the ASC's care.
