Best sport content creator

ASC Media Awards

This new award recognises outstanding sport content creators who use digital platforms and formats, including social media, podcasts, vodcasts, video, articles and photography, to inform, entertain and engage audiences.

Open to individuals and creator teams, including current and former athletes, journalists, experts, analysts and sport fans, the award celebrates content that inspires conversation, builds communities and enriches the sporting landscape. Judges will assess entries based on originality, authenticity, audience engagement and positive impact, recognising creators who celebrate sport, share knowledge and tell compelling stories.

Your entry must address each of the below: 

  1. Describe the purpose of your content, what platform/s you publish on and what content formats you produce. 
  2. Summarise the team involved in producing the content. 
  3. Describe your target audience/s and how your content connects with and engages this group.
  4. Provide 3 to 5 examples of your work outlining:  - innovative and/or original content  - how the content was shared and/or repurposed across different platforms and formats  - Audience engagement and community growth, supported by relevant metrics where available 
  5. Provide examples of how your content positively contributes to sport through storytelling, education, advocacy, community building, entertainment or the promotion of safe, welcoming and inclusive sporting environments. 

To note: 

The Best Sport Content Creator award is replacing Best sport podcast. If you have previously entered the podcast category, this is still the award for you.  

This award is open to both individual creators and creator teams. 

We encourage anyone creating content for a club or organisation to enter Best sport coverage by a club or organisation award.

Entry information

Entry requirements

Entries require: 

  • A completed entry form.    
  • Answers to the questions outlined above, no more than 500 words. 
  • Examples of your content as requested in the criteria. 

If your entry includes long-form video or podcasts, we strongly encourage you to include a highlights package. 

Upload an electronic copy of the work that forms the basis of the nomination. The online form allows for multiple file uploads simultaneously. Multiple file types are also supported. If your platform requires a user to login to view the content in full, please include login details in your entry.

Entries do not have a file size limit, however the upload time will be dependent on your internet connection.

Qualifying information

The qualifying period for all nominations is between 1 November 2025 and 31 October 2026. Entries submitted in previous Sport Australia/ASC Media Awards cannot be re-submitted. This period applies to all categories except the Lifetime achievement award for contribution to sports journalism.
