From comedians to coaches and commentators, season two of Sportish unites a fresh line-up of Australian voices championing Play Well, Australia’s Sport Participation Strategy.

Hosted by Olympic champion Libby Trickett and weekend warrior Georgie Trickett, the new season features nine episodes exploring the role sport plays in creating connection, wellbeing and belonging for millions of Australians.

The series builds on the popular podcast launched by the pair in 2024, taking a fresh look beyond the results to explore the impact sport has on Australia's social fabric.

Series Two includes:

  • Comedian, radio and television presenter Adam Hills
  • Parenting expert Maggie Dent
  • Author and performance coach Brad Stulberg
  • Netball coach Katie Walker
  • Comedian Jimmy Rees
  • Athlete, author and motivational speaker Turia Pitt
  • Minister for Sport Anika Wells
  • Cricket commentator Bharat Sundaresan
  • Former Matildas goalkeeper Lydia Williams

Australian Sports Commission (ASC) CEO Kieren Perkins OAM said the new series builds on the success of the first season.

“The first season showed just how powerful conversations about sport can be. We heard inspiring stories from Australians who reflected on the role community sport played in shaping their lives, careers and sense of connection.”

“A common theme across every episode was the importance of making sport welcoming, inclusive and having fun at the heart of it.”

“That reflects Play Well's vision of creating positive sporting experiences and breaking down barriers so that everyone that wants to be involved can be involved in sport.”

Four-time Olympic gold medallist and mum of five Libby Trickett said sport had shaped every part of her life.

“Sport gave me everything - friendships, purpose, a sense of who I am. The new season of Sportish is all about reminding people that you don’t need to be an Olympian to feel that magic. You just need a team, a court, a pool or a park, and someone who makes you feel welcome.”

Co-host, mum of three and avid sports-nut Georgie Trickett said Play Well was more than a strategy on paper.

“It reflects so much of what sport means to me. It's why coaching a netball team on a Saturday morning is so important, why I want my kids to try lots of different sports and why seeing my mates at exercise on a Monday morning is a highlight of my week.”

The first episode of the nine-part series drops today, with new episodes released weekly. To listen to the Play Well podcast series, search Sportish in your favourite podcast app or via Youtube.

The series was produced by award-winning production house Deadset Studios.
