The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) continues to evolve as one of the world's best high performance sport precincts, announcing a new partnership with global fitness technology leader Technogym.
The collaboration has seen the installation of Technogym’s latest equipment in the AIS Strength and Conditioning Gym in Canberra, reinforcing the AIS’s commitment to providing a world’s best training environment that inspires Australian athletes to Win Well.
The new equipment includes Technogym’s Skillrun and Skillrow, as well as advanced technology for testing such as the Biostrength REV leg press and Biostrength leg curl and leg extension machines. These feature integrated biofeedback and AI technologies that provide real-time data to inform training output and guide movement execution.
AIS Performance Services Lead Ross Smith believes athletes will benefit from the real-time training information the equipment’s technology provides.
“This equipment provides enhanced tools to help athletes tailor their workouts to suit their individual needs and medal pursuits,” he said.
“The feedback and data from the equipment also gives our performance staff a deeper understanding of an individual athlete's physical output.”
The addition puts the AIS alongside the likes of Ferrari and McLaren F1 teams and international football clubs Juventus and Inter Milan as high performance programs that utilise Technogym equipment.
“Thanks to our experience as brand of reference for sport champions and teams and as a nine-time Official Supplier of the Olympic Games, we know what high performance athletes need when it comes to reliable training and recovery equipment,” Technogym CEO and Founder Nerio Alessandri said.
“So, to be able to share our equipment with AIS-supported athletes makes us really proud.”
