Meatballs with spaghetti

Ingredients

  • 500g lean beef mince
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 small onion, grated,
  • 1 apple, peeled and grated
  • 1 small carrot, grated
  • 1/3 cup fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley, plus extra, to serve
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 700ml passata (or tomato pasta sauce)
  • spaghetti, to serve

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. Combine mince, garlic, onion, apple, carrot, breadcrumbs and parsley in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Shape into meat balls and place in ovenproof dish.
  3. Pour passata over meatballs and cover and bake for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove lid and bake for a further 15 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through.
  5. Serve with spaghetti and sprinkle with parsley.
