Game On - Sporting Schools is ready to roll into 2026

It’s that time again, schools are gearing up to bring sport to their students, and your sport could be the highlight of their Term 1.
Grant applications for Sporting Schools Term 1, 2026 grants are now open and close at 5 pm on Friday 14 November 2025.
Sporting Schools helps schools increase children’s participation in sport and connect them with community sporting opportunities. It’s about building students’ confidence and capability to be active for life.
Schools can access:
- delivery of sport programs by coaches (or led by their teachers)
- equipment to support school-based delivery
- relationship building with community sport that create pathways beyond the school grounds
What the teachers are saying
“By having a coach run the session, I am able to work closely with students that are usually not as engaged in sport. This makes a huge difference to the class dynamic.” - Primary School Teacher
“Students are actively engaged in sports that they may not have had access to before. Students are finding sports they enjoy and actively pursuing them after hours via joining a sports club.” - PE Coordinator
Sporting Schools programs create excitement and momentum, sparking school-wide enthusiasm that extends beyond physical education lessons.
“Students are accessing a sport they have never tried and then practicing those skills at recess and lunchtime. I have never seen so many on the basketball court at playtime — it’s excellent.” - School Teacher
