2019 Remuneration and Organisational Benchmarking Survey

18 August 2020

Sport Australia and the AIS recently conducted the Remuneration and Organisational Benchmarking Survey for 2019, to support operational planning decisions and to assess existing structures across the sector.

NSOs and members of the National Institute Network (NIN) were invited to participate in the survey.

The survey was designed to support operational planning by providing insights into remuneration benchmarking and organisational structures across the industry.

Information collected through the survey is intended to:

  • Provide participating NSOs and the NIN with reports that benchmark salaries by position as well as functional roles across similar organisations. Data provided will be aggregated so that individual salary details are not identifiable.
  • Enable transparency of participation and high performance sector investment.
  • Provide a reference point for cross-sector analysis on corporate structures, functional roles and gender balance.
  • Explore variance in salaries across the sector to better-understand relevant contributing factors.
  • Where possible, observe changes over time to remuneration benchmarks and organisational structures across the sector.

Survey responses closed on 16 August.

Sport Australia and the AIS have commenced analysing the data, with reporting to be made available for participating organisations shortly.
