From Sporting Schools to after school fun, check out Hockey Australia’s work with Moriac Primary to keep kids engaged in sport after their Sporting Schools program finished.

Our Sporting Schools program provides thousands of schools and students a great introduction to many National Sporting Organisations, but how do we turn those programs into continued sporting participation?

Recently, Hockey Australia worked with Torquay Hockey Club and Moriac Primary after they had received a Sporting Schools grant in Term 1 2019, to develop a Hookin2Hockey program offered after school hours on site at the school for students to continue participation in Term 2.

Removing the barriers to participation, especially in a small rural town, and making it easier for parents to not have to drive their children over to the next town made it possible for 38 students to enrol.
