Sport Australia is delighted to announce that it has a new commercial sponsorship with PlaySport, Australia's first innovative online platform for all things sport.
What is PlaySport?
Think of it as the world’s largest all-inclusive sports centre – every sport, every level, and every ability – PlaySport connects people to it all. With one login they can find, organise or play sports all in one place.
With 55,000 sport organisations and over 300 different sports on the new platform, PlaySport’s aim is to encourage everyday Australians to get active by allowing people to discover, organise, book, play and follow any sport or activity anywhere in Australia at any time.
Why PlaySport?
PlaySport aims to provide opportunities for three million Australians to be more active over the next three years. Ben Sanders, co-founder of PlaySport says:
“With PlaySport anyone can organise sport and activity experiences in minutes. So let’s take the 50,000+ organisers of sport and activities currently on the platform. If they deliver just one extra event per year to 20 participants, that introduces one million more Australians to a new sporting activity every year. That would mean we all helped facilitate three million more activities, three million more activations and three million more motivational moments to get Australians moving!”
By partnering with all levels of government, local and state sports organisations, as well as not-for-profit and commercial, each organisation can promote their current offering for free to bolster their participation levels through PlaySport.
People from all walks of life can discover and connect with every organisation’s experiences both locally and nationally. Players, members, volunteers, followers and fans are able to find new sports and activities as well as their sports passion. PlaySport brings this all together for the first time in a simple and seamless platform.
As Australia’s largest online sporting platform, PlaySport will significantly increase its reach as Sport Australia’s Digital Activation Partner including the ‘Find Your 30’ and ‘Move It Aus’ campaigns. The increased reach will also provide valuable research and insights to all stakeholders to help them develop and evolve their programmes and initiatives for all Australians.
