National Volunteers Week (NVW) takes place between 17-23 May 2021. The theme for this year’s celebration is Recognise, Reconnect and Reimagine.

We all know that volunteers play an important role in Australian sport and COVID-19 has had a significant impact on volunteer numbers. Now is a vital time to promote the benefits of volunteering and celebrate the role volunteers play in sport and the community.

How to get involved?

The AIS and Sport Australia would like to work closely with NSOs to:

• Identify a particular club/individual/organisation to highlight their outstanding support and showcase their volunteering efforts that contribute to sport.
• Identify participants to say ‘thank you’ to volunteers and encourage people to volunteer
• Identify NSO events or celebrations to further amplify messages
