Sport Australia is undertaking early stage work to consider the development of a national community sport infrastructure data platform product with the potential to support decision makers at all levels of sport to prioritise investment and usage.
This project was first considered in the recent Sport Australia and KPMG report on the Value of Community Sport Infrastructure.
A national community sport infrastructure data platform is one way for Sport Australia to assist the sector to understand current provision levels, monitor trends and inform strategic planning and investment decisions.
Sport Australia has recently completed an investigation into the location of potential data sets across State and Territory jurisdictions, local government, and national and state sport organisations and undertaken research on how relevant data sets may be captured. This research will contribute to how this project may progress.
