Award-winning course supporting primary school teachers

The ASC’s PE Essential Skills for Primary Teachers Course helps educators deliver high-quality PE lessons with confidence.

An additional 900 primary school teachers have headed back to the classroom ready to deliver fun and engaging physical education lessons after completing the Australian Sports Commission’s (ASC) Physical Education (PE) - Essential Skills course.

The free course includes three hours of accredited professional development from the Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) and three hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) PD.

It contributes to maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW, addressing key areas of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

The course also took first place (Platinum) in the categories of Best Online Learning, eLearning Project, and Accessibility, and was a runner-up (Diamond) for Best Video Content and Best Free eLearning Resource at the recent international Learnx Awards.

Teachers have praised its easy-to-follow modules, interactive content, and immediate impact on their ability to create engaging PE experiences.

“I’d encourage you to sign up to this course as it builds up confidence on what PE teaching looks like and how you can apply these skills in a PE setting,” Brayden Van Der Pol, a teacher from Templestowe Park Primary School in Melbourne said.
