The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) National Generation 2032 Coach Program (Gen 32 Program) is a two-year immersive coach development program for emerging pathway and early career high performance coaches seeking to build a long term career in high performance coaching.
Delivered in partnership with National Sporting Organisations (NSOs), National Sporting Organisations for People with Disability (NSODs), and the National Institute Network (NIN), the program supports the development of each coach through an AIS led Learning Journey and the integration of the coach into a high performance program, coaching under the guidance of an experienced Technical Coach.
Since its introduction in July 2022, the Gen 32 Program has successfully supported two cohorts of coaches (59 coaches), contributing to both employment outcomes and the development of a more holistic, athlete-centred approach to coaching.
- Target Coaches: Emerging pathway and early-career coaches seeking to build a career in HP coaching; typically within 1-4 years of their HP coaching journey.
- Nomination process: Nomination by HP-funded NSO/D Performance Director and/or NIN HP Manager and assessment by ASC panel.
