Sport Australia is determined to have more Australians participating and excelling in sport, from grass-roots right up to the pinnacle of elite competition.
The International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK) has defined and approved a four-level hierarchical international anthropometry accreditation scheme, which is now taught in over 40 countries world-wide.
Its foundation principle is the objective maintenance of quality assurance of measurements by requiring that all levels of ISAK practitioner meet accuracy and reliability criteria in the form of end of course examinations and the completion of post course profiles.
In accordance with Australian Performance Support Practitioner Minimum Standards, ISAK qualifications are considered essential for any performance support practitioners undertaking surface anthropometry assessments on athletes.
A person who can demonstrate adequate precision in 4 base measures, 8 skinfolds, 6 girths and 3 breadths of the Restricted Profile as well a basic understanding of the theory of anthropometric applications.

*Candidates whose previous accreditation has expired for more than two years are ineligible for reaccreditation unless there is a medically certified reason for their not having been able to reaccredit within that entire period. Covid-19 may have limited reaccreditation over the last two years. If this has impacted you please reach out to discuss your specific circumstances. In the absence of that, candidates must redo the complete ISAK course if they wish to regain their accreditation.
"The instructors were fantastic and really knew the content. They were all very approachable as well as passionate about the content and quality assurance. They were also very helpful at sharing hints and tips to get the best possible measurement."
