Access to licensed research journals and databases
Access to databases and individual journal titles is restricted to Clearinghouse members affiliated with recognised national and state-based Australian sporting organisations, in line with copyright and licensing requirements.
When using these resources, you must comply with the terms and conditions set by individual publishers, which are available on their respective websites. Access is granted solely for individual use related to your role in the Australian sport sector.
To ensure compliance, please:
Keep your username and password secure and confidential.
Do not download and share articles in any format, whether physical or electronic (e.g., via email, Google Drive, SharePoint, Dropbox, websites, etc.).
Cite and reference any research or articles used.
Non-compliance may result in suspension of access and could jeopardise access for others if publishers withdraw licences.
Supply of Print and Electronic Documents for the Purpose of Research or Study
Member’s document delivery requests:
This section of the Membership Agreement relates to members that require the National Sport Information Centre (NSIC) to supply journal articles and other items in electronic format via email or other forms of electronic transmission.
Background:
A. The Member wishes to request document supply for research or study purposes from the NSIC.
B. The Copyright Act 1968 (the Act) requires that such requests be made in writing and that a signed declaration must be furnished by the Member to the NSIC before any copies are made and supplied to the Member.
C. This Member Agreement seeks to address the requirements of the Act for the purposes of electronic requests and electronic document transmission.
The Member agrees with the NSIC and declares as follows:
All copies of documents (electronic and hardcopy) requested by me under this agreement are required for the purpose of research or study, will not be used for any other purpose, and have not previously been supplied to me by the NSIC.
The NSIC may treat as signed by me any electronic request and declaration made under subsection 49(1) of the Act that bears my Username, and that records that it was sent from my email address.
I understand that it is an offence under section 203F of the Act to make a declaration under section 49 that I know, or ought reasonably to know, is false or misleading in a material particular, and I will not allow any request to be signed in the manner provided under clause 3 (above) without my authority.
