Programs, resources and reports
- Torres Strait Community Sport and Recreation Program, opens in a new tab (applications currently closed). The Program provides funding to: enable culturally appropriate physical activities that address community-identified and prioritised needs; support appropriate physical activity participation; administer a small grants program to support travel to competitions. This program has been extended, with supported activities to be completed by 30 June 2025.
- First Nations Sport and Recreation Program, opens in a new tab (applications currently closed). The Program aims to increase the physical activity levels of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in non-discrete communities. The program provides funding to organisations in non-discrete communities to coordinate and facilitate the delivery of physical activity opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to increase physical activity participation.
- Deadly Active Sport and Recreation Program, opens in a new tab. The DASRP was targeted at 17 identified discrete local councils to coordinate and facilitate the delivery of physical activity opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Projects will support the delivery of quality and culturally appropriate physical activities to increase physical activity participation. Funding is now available to support the 17 discrete Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2026.
- Burragun Games Trail, opens in a new tab, Queensland Government, (accessed 13 August 2025). The Queensland Government and Nature Play Queensland have installed a traditional Indigenous games trail in Mayes Place Park, Kingston. The games and trail name were selected in consultation with the traditional owners of the area, the Yugambeh language group.
- Respectful Language Guide, opens in a new tab, Queensland Government, (accessed 13 August 2025). This guide has been designed to assist staff to make respectful, conscious and insightful choice of words, terms and language.
