As each Regional Development Commission develops its Regional Investment Blueprint, the department ensures sport and recreation is positioned so that future investment decisions ensure liveable regional communities and it supports healthy and active lifestyles.

An ongoing grant program that provides funding assistance to regional Western Australian athletes (aged 13 to 21 years) who aspire to reach their full sporting potential.

The ongoing grant program aims to encourage participation in identified sport and active recreation activities for athletes (primarily those aged 13 to 18 years) living in the regions of the Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne and other remote locations within the Mid West and Goldfields regions.
