Northern Territory (NT)

Volunteering SA & NT, opens in a new tab is a not for profit organisation and peak body for volunteering, leading the sector in South Australia and the Northern Territory. It produces a number of resources and services that sports organisations may fund useful.

Northern Territory Sport Volunteer Action Plan 2023-2025, opens in a new tab, Northern Territory Government, Territory Families, Housing and Communities, (accessed 9 November 2023). In recognition of the importance of sport volunteers, the focus will be on supporting the volunteer workforce strategies of peak sporting bodies and active recreation organisations in the Territory through three key workforce development programs:

• Workforce Promotion Program, opens in a new tab - promotion of sport volunteer roles, benefits, resources and achievements.
• Workforce Support Program, opens in a new tab - development and delivery of volunteer involvement-related resources and activities.
• Workforce Grant Program, opens in a new tab - administration of annual volunteer development grants.
