- Women in Rugby Leadership Program, opens in a new tab, (accessed 4 August 2025). Developed to create capacity and capability within the rugby landscape and to increase female participation at all levels of the game. 2025 marks the fourth year of the Program, with over 30 female MO’s, coaches, MU and club administration staff, having previously benefited from this professional development initiative.
- Coaching Women and Girls in Rugby, opens in a new tab, Rugby Australia and La Trobe University, (2025). Research report explores the challenges in coaching community women and girls' rugby and how Rugby Australia is fostering a more inclusive, engaging environment to boost retention and long-term participation. The research highlights the need for Rugby Australia to adopt a multi-faceted approach to coaching women and girls. By improving resource allocation, challenging cultural barriers, and enhancing coaching education, the sport can provide a more inclusive and positive experience for female participants, ultimately increasing retention and long-term engagement in rugby.
- Women's Rugby Plan, opens in a new tab (2023). Rugby Australia’s strategy 2022 – 2032 is an ambitious plan to connect the game and maximise Rugby’s Golden Decade in Australia. The strategy has a deliberate focus on women, aiming to ‘continue the support and accelerate the growth and value of the women’s game.’ Our Women’s Rugby plan has been produced off the back of Rugby Australia’s strategy, aiming to capture key elements of Women’s Rugby across the four major ambitions of: Participation, Performance, Promotion and Profitability.
World Rugby

Provides information and resources to help encourage women and girls to be involved in rugby at all levels including participation, leadership and careers, resources, and the 'Impact Beyond 2025', World Rugby's global impact programme, with the aim of capturing the long-standing positive impact of Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025.

By 2025, rugby will be a global leader in sport, where women involved in rugby have equity on and off the field, are reflected in all strategy, plans and structures, making highly valued contributions to participation, performance, leadership and investment in the global game of rugby.
- Balancing the Board: a toolkit to help increase women's representation on rugby boards, opens in a new tab, World Rugby, (updated February 2020). This toolkit is designed to help you improve the level of women’s representation on your Board. It provides some background information about what is needed and why and then outlines some practical steps for getting there.
- Women Coaching Rugby Toolkit, opens in a new tab, World Rugby and UK Coaching, (May 2020). The toolkit is made up of a number of sections covering the most crucial areas of coach education, development and deployment. Though aimed at increasing the number of women rugby coaches, a lot of the information and tactics outlined in the toolkit can equally be applied to generic coach and workforce development.
New Zealand Rugby
- Women and Girls in Rugby System Strategy 2023-2033, opens in a new tab, NZ Rugby, (2023). A set of guiding principles and a roadmap of focus areas and prioritised building blocks, designed to deliver successful and sustainable engagement of women and girls across the wider rugby community over a 10-year period.
