Flying Disc

Flying disc is a team sport where players pass a disc between teammates and score by completing a pass in the opposing team's end zone.

Flying disc, also known as ultimate, originated in 1968 when a Frisbee-based game was developed by American high school students.

Governing body

Australian Flying Disc Association, opens in a new tab is the organisation recognised by governments at all levels as the national controlling body for the sport of flying disc in Australia.

History

Following the introduction of the Frisbee to Australia in 1976, the Australian Frisbee Association (AFA) was established in 1977 as the sport's first national body. The AFA became the Australian Flying Disc Association (AFDA) in 1987. 1, 3
