Adults (15 years and over)

AusPlay at least 3 times per week participation (January 2016 – December 2016 data)

How to use the charts:

• Hover over segments in the charts to view participation estimates and rates.
• Clicking on segments in the Gender and Age charts will update the data in all charts.
• To return charts to their default state, click the ‘Reset’ button in left corner of the grey band at the bottom of the chart area.
• To enhance your viewing experience click the ‘Full Screen’ button in the bottom right corner.
• To download data click the ‘Download’ button in the bottom right corner.

Usability of the adult national results

The AusPlay results are based on a sample and are therefore subject to sample error. In general, population estimates under 25K should be used with caution and estimates under 6K are considered too unreliable to use. An exception applies to the ACT, NT and Tas where population estimates under 15K should be used with caution and estimates under 4K are too unreliable to use. For detailed margin of error cut-offs, please refer to the AusPlay_Methodology_Report_25_01_17.pdf.

Children (0 to 14 years)

AusPlay at least once per week organised participation outside of school hours (January 2016 – December 2016 data)

Notes

• The children’s results for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), Northern Territory (NT) and Tasmania (Tas) are based on small sample sizes. Therefore the children’s data above and in the downloadable documents below have high relative margin of error for the ACT, NT, and Tas and should be used with caution.
• The ACT, NT and Tas have fewer data tables available for download than other states. This is also due to sample size.
