The coach journey with Frank Dick OBE

Frank Dick OBE has been a global sports leader for more than five decades as a coach, coach developer, mentor, strategist and motivational speaker. Frank combines this wealth of knowledge and experience into an informative and motivational approach to achieving long-lasting transformation of both individual and team performance. In this one-on-one discussion, HP Coach Development Manager, Bill Davoren, will unearth Frank's journey as a sports leader specific to coaching, culture, great teams and people and leadership.

Biography

As the British Athletics Federation’s Director of Coaching from 1979-1994, Frank led the British Athletics Team through a golden era with Olympic champions by the likes of Sebastian Coe.  In 2016, he led the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee’s 2016 Rio Olympics and Paralympics contingent as High Performance Director to one of its strongest medal results. Frank is the current President of the European Athletics Coaches Association and Chair of the World Athletics Global Athletics Coaches Academy; his contribution to coaching and coach development is recognised in being awarded an Honorary Professorship by the National Sports Academy of Bulgaria, Honorary Doctorate by Loughborough University, OBE in 1989 and induction to the UK Coaches Hall of Fame in 1999.
