From artistic directors to acclaimed conductors and an Olympic champion, this year’s World Class to World Best (WC2WB) conference will tap into insights of leading minds across sport, business and the arts to help drive sustainable success in Australia’s high performance sport system.
Organised by the Australian Institute of Sport, WC2WB brings together representatives of the high performance system for two days of networking, learning and collaboration.
Centred around the values of Australia’s HP 2032+ Sport Strategy (Win Well Strategy) – excellence, belonging, courage, and connection – this year’s theme is ‘Horizon 2: on the road to sustainable performance – stories of success and opportunities.’
Keynotes will feature global speaker and author of The Leading Edge Holly Ransom, speaking on excellence; Artistic Director and Head of School at the Australian Ballet School, Megan Connelly, who will explore the role of belonging; acclaimed conductor and educator Benjamin Northey, delivering his thoughts on connection; and York-Peter Klöppel, Head of Mental Performance at Red Bull Athlete Performance Centre, who will share his insights into the role of courage in high performance environments.
Breakout sessions will also cover the strategy priority areas of performance, world leading knowledge and practice, and outstanding people and organisations.
These include a session from Olympic gold medallist Matt Wearn, and insights from head coaches and specialists driving success across sports including swimming, netball, water polo, athletics, rugby league, surfing and basketball.
WC2WB will run from Tuesday 18 to Wednesday 19 November for invited guests across the system.
