"My research direction has centred on understanding the role of motor development in children’s physical activity participation. Whilst motor development plays a pivotal part, it is only one piece (or element) of a complex puzzle and that puzzle is physical literacy. Children need to have all the elements of physical literacy to give them the skills they need to engage in a lifetime of physical activity participation. The Australian Physical Literacy Framework is comprehensive because physical literacy is the physical, psychological, social and cognitive learning we all need to acquire across the life course. I hope this Framework helps all Australians to move forward."
