The AFL has developed an array of resources that will assist teachers to deliver AFL on the field but also to engage students in the classroom while achieving educational outcomes. Such resources include:

The Kids’ Athletics curriculum aligned resources are designed to support flexible delivery of athletics in primary schools.

Aussie Hoops have a guide containing additional coaching resources and session cards for each stage of the program. These session cards have been developed by Basketball Australia and are aligned to the national coaching curriculum. In addition to their inclusion in this guide, each local centre also receives these session cards in a digital format so that coaches can print and utilise them on court.

Ready Set Trot Playground Skills is a fun and interactive program that provides young people with an introduction to horses through a series of free games and activities – without actually needing a horse!

It is the most accessible way to dip a hoof into the horse world and has been designed especially for school teachers, after-school carers, parents and club coaches.

Ready Set Trot Playground Skills uses basic sports equipment, such as balls, skipping ropes and hoops, so it can be delivered anywhere, anytime, by anyone.

By using the imagination of children to link horses to everyday play, children are acquainted with a basic understanding of the horse world.

MiniRoos Kick Off resources such as Session Guides, FAQs, Parent Information Packs and where to find the local community club can be found on the Football Australia website, opens in a new tab. These resources are free of charge and accessible to all.

School teachers can register as a user to golf.org.au, opens in a new tab to gain free access to these curriculum manuals as well as instructional videos and games. If you already have a Golf Australia website login, please contact mygolfschools@golf.org.au to gain access. Both programs can also be externally delivered through Sporting Schools Program funding.

A set of lesson plans and 12 month access to the GymMix online Lesson Planner is available with all Sporting Schools programs allowing teachers to build lessons including Warm Up, Skill Development, Circuits and Cool Down activities in four easy steps:

In partnership with Special Olympics Australia, Gymnastics Australia has created TREE – a practical tool that supports coaches to modify games and activities to be more inclusive and enhance the participant experience. Gymnastics-and-SOA-TREE-approach.pdf.

Hockey Australia'sHINHockeySchoolsGuide.pdf has been designed to assist teachers, community coaches (from clubs and associations) and approved coaching providers, to deliver Hockey Australia's all-inclusive Sporting Schools Program. The program will help students learn the basic skills of the game, as well as develop fundamental motor skills, and improve their ability to work as part of a team.

Check out the lacrosse teaching guide, opens in a new tab, which gives you a five lessons program. It doesn’t matter if you have never played (or even seen) a lacrosse game. The video guide explains the terms and rules of lacrosse, and runs through the techniques and tactics. It also helps you adapt the program to kids of different ages and different skills levels. In other words, just look to the guide for tips to simplify or advance the program to suit your students.

NetSetGO programs are supported by a suite of digital session plans designed for students of all levels of ability and experience. Students will learn skills through fun activities and invasion games. Resources are tiered developmentally for Foundation -Year 2, Year 3-4 and Year 5-6.

Primary School Resource

This resource will provide teachers with a series of exciting of activities that introduce students to the game of Rugby League in a safe, non-competitive and fun environment.

All activities are developed according to an age-appropriate learning approach that is specifically designed to meet the need of the Foundation - Year 2, Year 3 - Year 4 and Year 5 - Year 6 phases of learning.

Additionally, the resource provides detailed unit plans that outline Australian Curriculum Links, Achievement Standards, Focus Areas and Curriculum Content Descriptions for each activity.

The Little Shredders Learning Tool, opens in a new tab and Little Shredders Lesson Plans, opens in a new tab provide a step by step guide on how to structure and deliver a snowsport lesson, no snow required!

Softball Australia’s national participation program, Softball Batter Up is designed to be fun, flexible and engaging for children from kindergarten age to Year 6, focusing on fun activities while learning basic throwing, catching and striking skills.

You don’t need to be an experienced softballer or coach to deliver a successful program, which can be adapted for all ages and abilities using the Game Sense and CHANGE IT approach. Every teacher will feel confident delivering a Softball Batter Up lesson.

Softball Batter Up activities align with the national health and physical education curriculum and are written with coaches and teachers in mind. Detailed information is provided on each activity’s learning intention, band levels and skill focus, together with questions to encourage participant engagement.

The Program resources are designed to be informative, stimulating, comprehensive and easy to follow, providing any teacher the ability to develop creative sessions and provide strategies to keep students engaged.

This five lesson program follows the Playing for Life philosophy and comprises of start out, get into it and finish up components.

Each lesson has a specific objective allowing students to learn squash specific skills and concepts as well as other important physical and cognitive skills via fun games.

Life Saving Victoria have developed a new ‘Water Safety @Home’ online activity suite, to provide schools, industry and the community with interactive virtual resources to encourage the continuation of swimming and water safety education during the COVID-19 period. These activities include new:

Once you register your interest to become an accredited coach, you will be provided with the full curriculum and lesson plans, access to the video database and a suite of communication materials to assist in the delivery of the program.

Tennis supports teachers with resources linked to the Australian Curriculum: Health & Physical Education, as well as discounted equipment and access to support for courts and line marking through their Teacher Ambassador Program.

Tennis also provides online professional learning for teachers to support in the delivery of tennis during Health and Physical Education. Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA) has developed the Bowl Patrol program to give kids the opportunity to participate and enjoy our sport, by catering to the specific needs of young children. Bowl Patrol offers a modified, skill-based sports program, which gives kids the opportunity to participate, practice and develop skills essential to the game, whilst gaining confidence and technique, allowing them to develop physically, socially and cognitively.

A series of session cards have been developed to assist teachers and coaches to facilitate student achievement in TRYstars programs.

The Weet-Bix TRYstars session cards (and the swim, bike, run and transition games within them) can be adapted to suit the environment and the skills of the students involved.

Each session card incorporates at least one swim game, one ride game and one run game.
