Who can deliver?
AusBike is AusCycling's national bike riding program. Within Sporting Schools, bike riding programs can be delivered through accredited AusCycling coaches, teachers and providers or by other registered providers and coaches who meet Sporting Schools delivery requirements.
AusBike delivery options
Accredited AusCycling Coaches
AusCycling coaches are trained and accredited to deliver safe and engaging bike education programs. Coaches can deliver AusBike independently through the Coach Delivered model or work alongside school staff through the Coach Supported model.
To deliver AusBike as a coach, you must:
- Be registered in OfficialsHQ as a coach and connected AusCycling
- Be aged 16 years or over
- Hold a current Working with Children Check (paid check) or relevant exemption
- Confirm adequacy of insurance
- Agree to Coach Terms and Conditions
Accredited AusCycling Teachers
Teachers who have completed the AusBike Teacher Accreditation and Mentoring Program can deliver the program independently through the Teacher Delivered model.
AusCycling's AusBike Teacher Accreditation and Mentoring Program provides teachers with the skills, knowledge and resources needed to confidently deliver bike education within a school setting.
Teachers must also meet the following requirements:
- Hold a valid state or territory teacher registration
- Confirm adequacy of insurance
Shared Delivery
The Coach Supported model combines the expertise of an accredited AusCycling coach with the involvement of school staff. This approach helps build confidence and capability within the school and provides hands-on support throughout delivery.
Endorsed AusCycling Providers
Some AusBike programs are delivered by Endorsed Providers. These organisations have been approved by AusCycling to deliver AusBike and meet quality, safety and compliance requirements.
To deliver AusBike as an Endorsed Provider organisation, you must:
- Be registered as a provider in OfficialsHQ and connected to AusCycling
- Hold a valid ABN or declare ABN exempt
- Confirm adequacy of insurance
- Agree to Provider Guidelines and Provider Organisation Terms and Conditions
- Meet safety assessment requirements (as determined by the NSO)
To deliver on behalf of AusCycling, providers must also:
- Agree to a Memorandum of Understanding with the NSO/SSO
- Register as an AusBike Schools Provider and complete the associated induction
- Agree to AusCycling's Licence Agreement
Other bike riding providers and coaches
Sporting Schools also allows registered providers and coaches who are not affiliated with AusCycling to deliver bike riding programs, provided they meet Sporting Schools registration and delivery requirements.
Providers
To deliver bike riding as a provider organisation, you must:
- Be registered as a provider in OfficialsHQ
- Hold a valid ABN or declare ABN exempt
- Confirm adequacy of insurance
- Agree to Provider Guidelines and Provider Organisation Terms and Conditions
- Meet safety assessment requirements (as determined by the NSO)
Coaches
To deliver bike riding as a coach, you must:
- Be registered in OfficialsHQ as a coach and connected to a provider
- Be aged 16 years or over
- Hold a current Working with Children Check (paid check) or relevant exemption
- Confirm adequacy of insurance
- Agree to Coach Terms and Conditions
