Queensland Academy of Sport, opens in a new tab (QAS). Established in 1991, the QAS is the Queensland Government’s high-performance sports agency responsible for preparing Queensland elite athletes, teams and coaches for world class success.
On 1 May 2025, the Queensland Parliament passed, opens in a new tab the Queensland Academy of Sport Bill 2025, opens in a new tab to establish the QAS as a statutory body, commencing 1 July 2025. The Bill established a board for the QAS as its governing body and provided for the appointment of a chief executive officer and QAS staff.
