Co-designed by Australia's Sport System, this strategy includes initiatives aimed at increasing participation in sport for all.
Play Well: Australia’s Sport Participation Strategy focuses on creating great sporting environments and experiences, where individuals of all ages, backgrounds, genders and abilities can come together to access the benefits of sport. It includes six priority areas:

Plans
Places to Play: Australia’s national community sport infrastructure plan, Australian Sport Sector – led by the Australian Sports Commission, (2026). The plan highlights the importance of providing places to play that enable welcoming, safe and inclusive experiences. It also emphasises the application of universal design principles in new facility builds, upgrades and renewals, and identifies the development of national universal design guidelines as a priority to support leaders at all levels.
