Horizon 2

Play Well – Australia’s Sport Participation Strategy (Play Well Strategy) was developed in 2023 as the result of a collective effort of passionate people from across Australia, to create great sporting environments and experiences, where individuals of all ages, backgrounds, genders and abilities can come together to access the benefits of sport.

Over the past few years, Play Well has united the Australian sport system around a shared vision: that everyone has a place in sport. Together, we have strengthened connections, aligned priorities and built the foundations for change.

As we enter Horizon 2 of Play Well, the focus is about building on the foundations and implementing the vision at scale, translating shared ambition into coordinated action and measurable impact across the sport system.

The choices we make through Play Well will shape Australia’s sporting landscape leading into Brisbane 2032 and beyond.
