Northern Territory

The Northern Territory Government, through its Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities is committed to achieving gender equity in governance and leadership positions across the sport and active recreation sector.

All funded sport and active recreation organisations are required to work towards achieving the target of 50% of all board directors, chairs, and sub-committee members to be women. All funded sport and active recreation organisations are required to report on the gender make up of their boards and committees on an annual basis.

National Gender Equity in Sports Governance Policy condition

• 50% of all members of both the Nominations Committee and Finance, Audit & Risk Committee (or equivalents) must be women and/or gender diverse. This applies to all NSO/Ds, plus selected SSO/Ds as determined by the relevant State or Territory authority.

This condition is not applicable for any SSO/Ds in the NT.
