Rugby Union
Rugby union was an Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) scholarship sport from 1988 to 2013.
The AIS Rugby Union Program was a non-residential program. It started in 1988, with David Clark being appointed as head coach.
The program was expanded in 2011 to include a women's Rugby Sevens discipline.
During 2013, the AIS transitioned out of athlete scholarships and sport programs. Responsibility for coaches, athletes and programs was transferred to the principal National Sporting Organisation for rugby union at the time.

This page includes athletes who were on AIS scholarship for at least three months consecutively. All reasonable efforts have been made to ensure that the information is accurate and comprehensive.
