Professor Sophia Nimphius
Professor Sophia Nimphius, PhD, GAICD, is an internationally renowned researcher and thought leader who applies a multidisciplinary lens to athlete performance, athlete health, and sport as a vehicle for societal change. Her work spans high-performance sport and governance, with a focus on integrity, athlete welfare, and system reform.
She serves as an Independent Expert on the Scientific Panel of the European Club Association (ECA), representing more than 800 professional football clubs across Europe, and was appointed by the Hon. Anika Wells to the Advisory Council of Sport Integrity Australia. She is Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Sport) and Professor of Human Performance at Edith Cowan University.
Her career includes practitioner roles in sports science and strength and conditioning with Surfing Australia, Softball Australia, and multiple U.S. universities, as well as sport marketing with Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays.
