All programs can be tailored to suit the needs of each school. Programs can range from 4-10 sessions and can run from anywhere between 30-60 minutes. The programs are inclusive and available to students of all abilities.

Coach Delivered Programs

Primary School Program - Coles MiniRoos

The Coles MiniRoos Primary School program is designed to introduce boys and girls of all abilities, to the fundamental skills of football and physical literacy. Sessions focus on learning new skills, being active, making life-long friends and potentially unearthing the next generation of heroes in the Subway Socceroos or CommBank Matildas.

Secondary School Program

Secondary School programs are designed for students in Years 7 and 8 to further develop their fundamental movement skills in a team environment. The program is delivered in an inclusive and engaging manner which targets all skill levels and encourages a positive view towards an active and healthy lifestyle.

Futsal in Sporting Schools

The Football Australia Futsal program is designed to introduce the core basic skills and match play of futsal to children from Foundation to Year 8 with an emphasis on fun-learning and active participation.

This futsal program adheres to the Australian Curriculum and Australian Physical Literacy Framework. Endorsed and qualified facilitators, group leaders, and teachers, provide a fun, safe, and inclusive learning environment, developing the skills and match play of children with engaging activities and games.

Futsal programs can be delivered in a variety of both indoor and outdoor settings, indoor gymnasiums, outdoor basketball courts, multi-sport courts. We can make small spaces work!

Futsal is the perfect option to keep students engaged in football skill development through the off-season and encourages students to be active indoors during hot or rainy seasons. PLUS, teachers can utilise new FIFA resources that specialise in post-program progression of both football and futsal for students to transition into local community competition

Football In Schools Inclusive Program

The Football in Schools Inclusive Program is an adapted version of the MiniRoos program, catering for students with intellectual disabilities and autism. It has been designed by Football Australia in partnership with Special Olympics Australia for delivery in special education environments. Coaches are purposefully trained and provided with additional resources to deliver inclusive programs and to adapt activities to suit the needs of participating students.

Football Australia is thrilled to provide you with online, interactive resources to help facilitate your Teacher Delivered Football Program. Football Australia will guide you through every step of the journey to ensure your students receive the same experience as our coach delivered programs.

Football Skills Program

The Skills Program is a practical teaching program for Foundation to year 8 students. The program is aligned to the Australian Curriculum with the aim of introducing young learners to the fundamental skills of football. Each lesson focuses on a target skill with games, explicit instruction and modelling, and skill practice activities. The program is also supported by short video tutorials and goal tracking worksheets to help students set personal goals and think about how they can achieve their goals.

Futsal in Schools Program

The teacher delivered Futsal in Schools Program is an introductory futsal program, aimed at students from Kindergarten to Year 8 to learn the fundamental skills and basic match play of futsal. With a strong focus on fun, learning, and active involvement, the program aligns with the Australian Curriculum and the Physical Literacy Framework. Football Australia encourages teachers to foster a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive environment where students can build their skills through engaging activities and games. Through this program, participants also develop physical literacy and sportsmanship—key qualities that support both sporting participation and everyday life. The Futsal in Schools program includes the rules of futsal, futsal skills explained, teacher tips, 8 lesson plans, plus an additional lesson focused on creating your own tournament, all of which can be delivered in a variety of both indoor and outdoor settings, indoor gymnasiums, outdoor basketball courts, or multi-sport courts.

Festival of Football Program

The Festival of Football program has been developed to bring football into the classroom via a curriculum aligned resource. The principles learnt by the kids in the classroom are then applied into football sessions and a festival of football experience.

The program covers a total of 16 lessons split into 4 key themes:

  • How to be part of a team (Foundation/Prep)
  • Winning & losing (years 1 & 2)
  • Diversity & inclusion (years 3 & 4)
  • Rules and referees (years 5 & 6)

Teachers will be provided in-classroom activities via an LMS, teacher guides aligning to the curriculum and on-field activities.
