Characteristics of learners

Learners are relatively new to the sport, beginning to grasp the skills and rules. They may be young, but not necessarily. Learners will make plenty of mistakes – this is all part of the learning process.

How officials can support learners

Facilitate a safe, fun and inclusive environment for them to develop their skills and gain confidence. Provide a space where everybody feels safe to make mistakes, learn from these and improve without feeling shame or embarrassment.
