Why should I undertake an exit interview?

Understanding why a volunteer is leaving can help continually review your volunteer management processes and experience offered.

It is important with any volunteer who resigns to provide them with an exit interview form to complete. This will:

• Show their feedback is important
• Identify ways to keep the volunteer involved either through transitioning to another role or as a supporter
• Help identify any trends on why volunteers are leaving
• Provide additional support or flexibility
• Help identify any issues that may need addressing
