Anchors of Belonging Framework
The Anchors of Belonging Framework helps you create sport environments where people feel seen, heard, known and valued. It encourages a more person-centred approach to inclusion by focusing on the everyday actions, conversations and relationships that help people feel they belong.
What you will learn
Belonging is strengthened when people feel recognised, listened to, understood and valued as individuals. The Anchors of Belonging Framework helps you reflect on how the environment you create can support stronger connection, trust and inclusion.
This animation describes:
- The four anchors of belonging: feeling seen, feeling heard, feeling known and feeling valued.
- How each anchor contributes to a person’s sense of belonging in sport.
- How to move beyond a compliance-based approach to inclusion.
- Practical ways to create sport environments where people feel they can contribute, connect and thrive.
