The LEARNS Framework
The LEARNS Framework helps you design and deliver learning experiences that keep the coach or official at the centre. It provides six practical principles - Learner centred, Environment, Active Engagement, Reflection and Review, New Knowledge, and Stretch and Challenge - to guide planning, delivery and review.
What you will learn
Participant-centred learning is more effective when it is planned around the learner’s context, needs and readiness. The LEARNS Framework helps facilitators and developers create learning experiences that are practical, engaging, reflective and appropriately challenging.
This animation describes:
- The six LEARNS principles and what each one means.
- How to keep the coach or official at the centre of learning and development.
- How to create environments where learners feel supported, engaged and able to reflect.
- How to use new knowledge, stretch and challenge in a way that supports real practice.
