Enhancing Equitable Access
Play Well Priority Area - Equitable Access Involvement
These activities focus on prioritising equity and choice to ensure all Australians can access sport.
Play Well Activity
Ambition Statement
Governments and sports have implemented coordinated affordability initiatives resulting in reduced cost barriers and improved access for priority populations.
First Nations peoples report stronger cultural connection and belonging through sport, with organisations embedding culturally safe practices and increasing First Nations participation opportunities.
More people with disability are participating in sport and reporting positive sporting experiences of access, choice, safety and belonging. Sporting organisations demonstrate improved disability-inclusion capability, provide reasonable adjustments where required and strengthen pathways betwen mainstream and disability-specific sport.
Embed the ASC Intersectionality Approach across sport
Equity, cultural safety and anti-discrimination practices are routinely embedded into policy, program design and investment decisions, resulting in safer and more inclusive participation experiences for diverse communities.
